If SCV 2004 and Cadets 2005 aren't the top two in percussion there is something wrong with this place.

Guess I was thinking right then!!! I was arguing between SCV 04 and Cadet's 05... decided on Cadet's 05... Not entirely sure why. I'm no percussionist. Best brass was no doubt Crown '09. Colorguard... meh... I at least voted for on of the top two, haha.

It's gotta be the Cadets for percussion. They were dominant in the first half of the decade.

Brass: 2009 Carolina Crown (and I'm an old phart!)

Guard: 2000 Cavaliers, mostly for the "Run, Forrest, Run" section

Perc: 2005 Cadets. Would have been better without the...well...that's a debate for another post.

There was a time not long ago that the only way you could hear the shear beauty of the high brass winner was to be one of the lucky ones in attendance on Finals night. The CDs offered a nice reminder, if played on a high quality stereo system, but it wasn't the same.

But now, if you go to Lucas Oil Stadium when the lights are off and nobody is there, you can still hear Promise of Living ringing softly in ther rafters.

guard...Cadets 05. Brass 09 Crown

percussion: IMO, never a doubt. SCV 2004, the BEST totally integrated front and back percussion book in DCI history

SCV's performance was a great example of the effectiveness of the amplified front ensemble. Many of the Cadets' wins were bare-knuckle squeaky clean battery master classes.
