84BDsop
I know many lower soprano players that use this technique at rehearsals and sometimes on the field! Hey now (says the BD 4th sop...)
Bucbari
If you have four spare minutes to laugh........Blow That Bugle! I read through the entire thread before responding.... How could anyone forget when Robert Lee Pruitt blew taps in From Here To Eternity? A Hollywood classic. One of the greatest films to come out of the Hollywood system and a memorable scene. Pruitt blew taps for his buddy Maggio after after he was killed while in the stockade with Frank Sinatra in the greatest role of his career as Maggio. He won an Oscar. markdewine
All of us old dinosaurs were there live, when the guy played the ram's horn in "The Ten Commandments"
ironlips
For a contemporary example, Buglers Hall of Fame member, Sgt. Jari Villanueva, covers all the calls in the Civil War epic, "Gods and Generals". He performs on a c. 1862 Bb Clairon (yes, that's the correct spelling), providing the authentic sound Federal and Rebel troops heard in camp and battle.
