audiodb
not noticing a ton of "OMG ALL I CAN HEAR IS THE BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM OF SYNTHETIC BASS" this year....but that will change when it gets in the oil can I think. It's funny to me that there are very few venues that any corps play in the entire summer with similar acoustics to that monstrous thing. As such, I expect mixes to be egregious again this year. Oh, that's right....no Alamodome this year.
Michael Boo
...Which corps have moments in their shows in which synths either add or detract from the overall sound? Here comes the teacher in me. Sorry. Even if the synths detract from the overall sound, they're still adding to it. Perhaps a better word than "add" would be "complement." I've heard synths complement the horn sound, and I've certainly heard some distract from it. I've always felt that if synthesizers are used properly, the use should be credited, and if used injudiciously and ultimately egregiously, the improper use should be knocked. It wouldn't hurt if there was a sub-caption for "tasteful."
Michael Boo
Oh, that's right....no Alamodome this year. But we still have the Georgia Dome, so at least the staffs will have one good shot at seeing how things work out inside. Remember that for much of World Class, the Lucas Oil Stadium roof will be open for Quarterfinals, (weather permitting).

Hrothgar15
Are there any junior corps at all not using low-end synth? If not, then whose use is the least noticeable?
Grumpy
yeah i think the first dome shows will show us the thunderous goo I've already heard it, and it was outdoors...FWIW, it was Jersey Surf.
contrajedi8
Boston Crusaders are not using any.
contrajedi8
Haven't seen Hrothgar posting in a while. DCP hasn't been the same without him I knew it was too good to be true.
Michael Boo
Jet engines, too, I guess. And Kalamazoo passenger trains.
ReformedDCFan
I have been out of the activity for the past few years - question: is one or more of the 150 members of a corps responsible for running sound?
