kevingamin
MBI has a pre-show effect where they play Middle Eastern music over a loudspeaker as the corps comes on the field. The guard uniforms at the start of the show are very beautiful:
kevingamin
I could hear MBI rehearsing when I got to the stadium for Thunderbirds warm-up. They sounded VERY good. I'm looking forward to this show.
kevingamin
Strong opening statement, although not as powerful, so far, as Empire's horns.
kevingamin
Soloists are having some trouble tonight for MBI. They're not together or aren't in tune. Nice horn 8th note triplet run! Guard uniforms really stand out right now.

kevingamin
Tubas need to open up their sound. It sounds like they're swallowing it. Kashmir, much higher tempo than Madison did a few years ago. Also more subtle. Very nice mello/trumpet duet on the melody, at least until the trumpet takes it up an octave and is no longer in tune with the mello. KeithHall
It looks like...I am looking at these pictures....that Statesmen may be a bit bigger than MBI. Correct?
kevingamin
You know, I'm not sure I'm getting MBI's best tonight. I feel like the horns are off, although the drums are doing all right.
