I heard from one of the corps' board of directors that this may have been the lowest attendance at finals in several years, if not decades. Thus it's unlikely that DCI will publicize the number of ticket sales. This seems corroborated by the photos of the stands (see the pictures posted on the Finals thread). I have never seen so many empty seats in between the 45s--even in the bottom section of the stadium. I've gone to several Finals in the 90s and 00s, and the seats between the 40s (much less the 45s) were always completely full on Finals night. VKMello84 Posted August 16, 2010 Share Posted August 16, 2010 I had heard somewhere some promotions involving free admission for children and something else, I think possibly an IN resident discount. I do not ever recall DCI doing anything like this before. And, if you have not been to this stadium, I find that it is extremely difficult to get any sort of accurate gauge on how many people are there from the actual seats. Going off to the side, I would imagine one could get a better idea. But I have never made it out around there while the crowds have been near peak. I think the highest attended was Montreal in the early 80's..... but seriously, you can't believe anything the dinos tell us. They were 8 feet tall back then and marched at 300bpm and played the full orchestral scores arranged by actual Romantic Era composers ghosts. and Eleventy billion people watched them (FROM BOTH SIDES!) ...because back then they could and the corps kids didn't want to sit 30 yards behind the endzone like they do today .
