Fran Haring
Don't know about the last couple of years. There may have been changes. But In 2005 MCL won high brass in Class A and did not make finals. The Class A caption awards have been based on Finals scores since at least 2007. Quite possibly 2006, too....I don't totally remember that one. I think I was still waterlogged at Finals that year. Before '06, they were based on Prelims. Reed
Now could you only imagine if some of the most recent corps to change status were around. A LOT of corps fighting for 10 spots, now wouldn't that be nice!Open Class finals would look like (IN NO ORDER OR PREDICTION) Grenadiers MBI Statesmen Brigadiers Crusaders Bucs Cabs Bush Renegades Corpsvets Hurricanes Alliance Carolina Gold Sunrisers Skyliners Kidsgrove Inspires All corps I've had the chance to share the field with! This definitely isn't to slight A Class by any means, that class is a super group of corps with talent no doubt! I like how you completely left out Music City Legend in your list. Cool. If Vigilantes don't get in, they don't win... though they probably have a very good drumline.

Sayre Kulp
Maybe why he has two picks there as in Vigilantes should but Grennies will? A few posts prior I asked the question about whether caption awards were based on Prelims or Finals numbers. I'm not sure what the rules are now, but I have seen both during my time in the activity. So my pick is that if Prelims scores determined caption awards, I believe the Vigilantes drumline would take the trophy, however if it is only Finals numbers being considered, then I believe the Grenadiers will take top honors in that category. Sayre Kulp
Side note - I always liked it better when the caption awards were based on prelims scores. That's the only way to award the corps that is TRULY the best in a particular subcaption. Supposed a Class A corps comes in 5th, but has the best drumline of the weekend. In Open Class, it's a little different. The likelyhood of an 11th place corps winning a caption is less likely (albeit still possible). But in Class A, are we seriously awarding the best of the Top 4, or the best of the CLASS?
tmignemi02
If Govenires beat FUSION ,the will have to a investagation, into fixing the show. It's quite hard to take this statement seriously. And i'm pretty sure Fusion's administration wouldn't appreciate this, either.
