The next big innovation on the drum corps field

Recommended Posts

Isn't it just a matter of time? (I hope this isn't technically a violation of the YouTube rule.)

Furthermore, how did we let the Dutch get the upper hand in the field bicycle race. That could have been us! Now, if we implement bicycles onto the field, (and yes, we've have selected uses of bicycles by Velvet Knights, Sky Ryders and more recently Blue Stars, but those were soloist performances and not full ensemble offerings to this glorious extent), we will just be followers and not leaders.

Amplification, electronics, bicycles. It's a natural evolution.

It has been my dream, for over four decades, to combine a traditional senior corps (in Gestapo hats) with a motorcycle drill team.

Hogs, trikes, choppers, stuntriding by motocrossers, Shriners on minibikes, the whole 100 yards.

That is pretty impressive!

I've always dreamed of having Drum Corps on Ice.

You could have the same amazing drill, but for that extra high

GE score, you could have triple axels!

I think the bigger innovation in this corps has to do with instrumentation.

DCA's Empire Statesmen in 2002 had a couple of guys from a Dutch bicycle band... I'm pretty sure it was the band mentioned in this thread... in their corps that summer.

The two bicycled around the field playing sopranos, and generally causing mayhem....LOL... during the Statesmen's version of "Officer Krupke" that year.
