Best 12th Place Show

Good poll. Actually a tough call to make.

I went with '08 Scouts but '03 Spirit is a very close 2nd. Time is one of my favorite Spirit shows.

2000 Southwind finished top 12 in all captions but did not make finals. Hosed.

My actual vote went for 2003 Spirit. Completely underrated show.

I love 2000 Southwind, and yes, they did finish top 12 in every caption. To say they got "hosed" implies that there was a collective desire by a group of individuals to keep the yellow team out of finals. If anything Southwinds placement makes it appear that the judging is legit. What are the odds of EVERY judge placing SW in the top 12, yet the corps not being in finals. I can imagine a few judges were raising their eyebrows that night when they saw how things shook out at semis. I loved Southwind and Bluecoats in 2000, and would have been fine with a tie, and 13 corps in finals.

SPIRIT 2003. Awesome show. Personally Madison 2008 was a bland show to me... some may say I'm biased because of where I happened to march that season... but the show just didn't do anything for me (FTR, our show was the definition of bland.... but we should have made finals :P). Fun moments... nothing really great though.

I really enjoy these threads -- they give me an idea of "what show do I need to watch right now." Granted, it'd be better if I could watch all of them, but I don't have THAT much free time.

Anyway, I'm biased and haven't seen more than half of these, but out of 07-10, 08 Scouts wins it for me. Mostly for the percussion feature.

They did danzon better that year than crown last year in my opinion.

I think Scouts' rendition had a much better groove to it, while Crown's was technically better (as is to be expected).

I think Madisons was more well fit (and a better groove) however Crowns had me more engaged.
