corpsband
Is it dirty or the uniform colors contrasting? I cannot tell... both? just looking at white dots there was a little dirt there.
Otowndrumin
To his credit, he did use the right word. If he had said STUPID we would be throwing down :P Ignorant is correct. I'm ignorant of the true facts behind the decision making in the BD Design room. Just as I'm sure he is as well. sure, but whatever... some people are so testy around here when someone doesn't say... wow "x" corps was amazing... tariq.shah
Congrats to Cadet Corps. 23rd in the World. SCVA - the Star that you wear on your tunic, the tilt of your Aussie, the shine on your Dinkles ... all symbols of the most consistent Drum Corps to EVER take the Field of Honor. Who else has a Cymbol Line that take over a small country? Who else tries to make their toes touch their kneecaps on the fwd march? Who else is hard as slate on the outside but smooth 'n cool as Jello on the inside? Who else has Euphs and Barrys that snap like weigh <1 lb? Who else does hornline parade-rest ripples that take <1 second? Or company front that bow <1inch? It is the staff that wrote your show, then rewrote it, etc ... the staff that set your itinerary based how last night's show went. The staff that pushed you to limits you never thought possible. One of them probably changed your life. Despite the their excellence, in the tradition of Gale, Myron, Rick South, Dean Westman, Jim Casella and all the field trench-techs; Chris Williams, Bagel, Murray, Eppy, Belski, Eric Hand, et al.... The VICTORY will be yours and yours alone. Remember: everything you do tomorrow, 8s &8s, timing, .....tbcontd Tapper, give us a break. drumwizz78
The performance captions should tighten up tonight between the top two. BD is not going to be 6th in Visual performance again IMHO. And I am still not sure they will stay 4 th in brass either. However me thinks Casets will keep the spread in GE and hence take it home. Love both shows but I think Cadets cleaned it up these past 2 weeks.

GMichael1230
Not to quote myself .. but does anyone else have thoughts on this theory? Yes, absolute rubbish and really just speculation without nothing to back it up. Of course those who want to subscrine to the theory will jump all over it, agree, try and make it fact, but truth is what do you really know about their design philosophy, or what is or isnt important to them, nevermind the fact that besides brass ,they have enough visual titles to share..... this place will never cease to amaze me. corpsband
I have a theory about the visual program. I'm sure no one in the know would ever admit to it either. I think the lack of visual movement is probably a product of Wayne Downey not wanting to have the visual affect their chances at a brass title. That might sound like a really rotten statement, but hear me out. I'm sure David Gibbs could hire anyone he wants to write the drill. The fact is, they've had success with this visual formula. NO ONE CAN REFUTE THAT. Now why would they go a changin when they have no reason to? They know more movement or more advanced staging of the instruments would only affect their block style sound ... they know it would affect the tone quality etc etc etc. So again .. why would they change? Does it mean BD doesn't care about the fans? Who knows. I have my hangups with them for sure .. but at least they're playing some stuff I can enjoy on my iPod for the first time in many seasons.... many many seasons. BD has always been behind the times from a drill standpoint. I don't see it changing unless Gibbs/Downey/ScoJo are all in agreement. Even then, they should give their current drill designer a shot to write something "Out of the BD Box". I can't argue with one point you're making here -- they have a recipe and they're sticking to it. There's absolutely no reason for them to try go outside their "formula" until it stops getting rewarded.
