2B or not 2B
Although I think it would be a great match, with Reading Buc's could do a an entire "Theme Show" of "Victory At Sea". I know a lot of Corps have played a song or so. But NO ONE has done an Entire show. The Music was played and Recorded by Many Symphony Orchestra's (New York Symphony , NBC Symphony, RCA Victor Symphony, Etc.) So it is QUALITY music. But almost any "Open Class" group could do it. I just say Reading first becauce of Title and the Sea and all. But any one could do it. AND " Victory at Sea " is in the " public domain " and has been released on VHS, Betamax, LaserDisc, DVD and Blu-ray.

Not the Naval Midshipmen). Edited September 12, 2011 by zorf

But while the movie itself is in the public domain, the soundtrack is not. Even the wikipedia article you quoted states so, further down in the paragraph "The soundtrack has separate copyright limitations pertaining to the Rodgers and Hammerstein organization." But yea, it's an interesting idea.

Being more than 3 or 4 hours of music. I would think it a Vis. Designers & Music Arrangers dream, to pick and choose what to play.
Kamarag
Reading did do a show based on music from the sea in 2003. Good stuff too.
Fran Haring
I will make this public and say that my "Mary Poppins - The Latin Side" show idea has been rejected by the Caballeros' staff.
Jeff Ream
I've always wanted to do New World Symphony. Guess we could twist Black Dog into it somehow to keep with the Zepplin connection of the past few years I keep waiting for Fool In The Rain myself Edited September 12, 2011 by Jeff Ream
