Michael Boo
Haven't you guys learned that anything good will ALWAYS be dragged through the mud on this website? Geez, let the bitter, angry people be bitter an angry. It's their right. Agreed...just as it's the right of others to counter perceived bitterness and anger. jjeffeory
To follow up your hypersensitivity.... YES. Steve Jobs WAS a great man. Innovative, intelligent, and a great motivational speaker. He changed the face of the industry (even if he only had 18% market share). The topic is how it relates to drum corps. And some (I know I'm not the only one, but maybe the only one who will say something in this topic) don't really think those things bettered the activity. Did photoshop help art? Most artists will say no. Wait, Photoshop is an Adobe product, not an Apple product... Pyware is NOT an Apple product.... Mr. Jobs was very successful at managing people; he was very business savvy.

Mr. Jobs was very successful at managing people; he was very business savvy. Indeed, but up until recently PC never made a stable enough product to be used consistently for these things. I'd also like to point out, way, WAY before pyware that the MAC Program "Marching Man" was the first marching band foundry program. You've probably seen them on an old dot matrix print out, tiny little flags marked each individual with a number in the flag. This program was actually a Mac made program, in collaboration with someone like Warner Brothers? (I'll have to go try and dig it up). 84BDsop
It was a well known fact that Apple didn't believe in giving money to charity. Shame on them. You must also believe Bill Cook never helped out any drum corps except Star. You're incredibly wrong on this, Brian.

GeneralTsoChicken
You must also believe Bill Cook never helped out any drum corps except Star. You're incredibly wrong on this, Brian. How are they relatable? Bill Cook actually did donate his time and money to other corps when star was around. He helped out people at the drop of a happy. He was a major philanthropist. Jobs was not. There is really no comparison between the two, and the analogy doesn't relate to drum corps well. If anything, Jobs is much more like George Hopkins. Kind of a mad hatter, spent years with the same group, a fan of innovation, more in touch with what the general public wants than the old timers... etc. They even dressed alike sometimes. Kevan Ahlquist
Our music staff used iPads a lot this year. It was nice because changes and clarifications were pushed out very quickly.
kaseyW
The majority of the techs this year had scores on their ipads. They were able to access their scores really accessibly because of the ipad. Without the ipad they'd have to carry around a bulky binder and flip pages around a bunch. Plus ipads "pages" don't flip in the wind.
