Michael Boo Posted July 7, 2004 Share Posted July 7, 2004 To me, it was and always will be Spirit of Atlanta's 1978 rendition of "Let it Be Me." Perhaps it was that the corps was only a year old, perhaps that it would make DCI World Finals for the first time, but I've NEVER seen a reaction to a closer from the fans like that. Even the years just afterwards, when the corps was arguably better, did not match the intensity from the fans. The main reason for me declaring this year's version number one? From the big push, over a minute later to the end, EVERYONE was standing due to the volume and intensity. I remember seeing no one sit down, nor were there any "down in front" shouts heard.
