Don Maclean's musical homage to Van Gogh via "Vincent", ala " Starry, Starry Night, etc " ?

That'd be a " earful ". (I know, I know, bad attempt at gallows humor ... haha )

Actually, these musical choices by SCV this year seem to have a lot of good possibilities for them, imo and the music, on the surface at least, seems a bit more accessible from them this year too. I'm looking forward to hearing this and seeing their show this year. 'Sounds intriguing.

Yes, this is exactly the song I meant. No idea what I was typing earlier haha...I had James Taylor on the mind I suppose.

Look for SCV to bring the aluphone to the front ensemble this year. Rumor has it this instrument was spotted at a recent camp.

I think this line from the manufacturer's website excites me the most:

The instrument does not use electric or acoustic amplification, yet can still generate both very soft and very powerful sounds.

Seems like good standard rep. Holst is great music, don't get me wrong, but unless the arrangement isn't spiced up a little and given that little twist I personally think it might not be super engaging, but very good drumcorps.

I've heard whitacre's choral piece arranged for the South Brunswick Highschool Marching Band about 4 years ago. I'm excited to see what they can do with it!

Off topic, am I the only one who found this video about 10 million times more entertaining and of higher quality than the Broken Arrow video posted a few weeks ago?
