corpsband
(Got the joke, Jeff) And corpsband, your point is??? That perhaps drummers sometimes tend to have a slightly narrow focus ??? As in:
DFPDrums
Why do fans not understand that judges only judge their caption, not the entire product, which leads to corps beating who the fans feel should have won?
troon8
Here's a non-rhetorical one that's not about scores or placements...(Although technically it's either a "Why did" or a "Why doesn't...) I haven't bought a Championship DVD for some years, so please correct me if I'm mistaken, but why did DCI get rid of the percussion & guard video angles and judges audio tracks? I really learned a lot from those! (Or at least told myself I did ;)
Kevin Doherty
So, Jeff, in response to me you are saying that instead of the specified number of Judges for a performance, there was just one who judged the whole show. Are there judged standstills in the Northeast? Don't know, but I would think it would be helpful for preparation for the marching season and that the scores in a standstill are of no consequence unless there is a standstill championship. What's your beef, other than you disagree with a judge's assessment? If somone disagrees with your assessment when you are judging, does it mean Jeff is always right and no one else is? Jeff Ream
drummers make me laugh. there should be a judge that stands in front of the pit the entire show as well, right? and one in the box, and one with the battery and maybe two with battery 'cause lines split so much these days oh --- and a cymbal judge cause everyone knows that vocabulary is so specialized that it takes a specialist to evaluate it crap -- almost forgot -- need an electronics judge because no one is really qualified to judge that either. Did I get them all? 6 percussion judges every show -- CHECK! too many. one on the field and one upstairs is enough. besides, we actually sample everything....not just laser focus on the weapons like they do in guard
