HornsUp
what do you think the chances are that all corps will eventually be playing on the same brand? Been there, done that. In the 70s. Olds Ultratone piston-rotary models wiped out the competition, and had 99.44% of the market until the 2-piston models were legalized. Then Benge (American Command) and DEG Dynasty grabbed a chunk of the action.

jonnyboy
With all of this talk of brand switches and whole lines using the same horns I got to wondering when it all started. I know drumlines have had matches sets, well since forever? At least when DCI started in 72. Does anyone know when the first corps started using a matched set of horns? Was the matched set before or after the first horn sponsorships?
HornsUp
Does anyone know when the first corps started using a matched set of horns? "Matched Set" = all the same model in each section. And the same name stamped on the bells.

Kamarag
No love for Kanstul. :( Kanstuls are great horns. Kanstul has also priced themselves out of the market.
Michael Boo
Kanstuls are great horns. Kanstul has also priced themselves out of the market. It may also be a factor of some companies pricing themselves into the market.
valvedtpt
I also don't think Kanstul can give package deals much like Yamaha can (with electronics, horns, pit equipment)
Jocko the Wonder Llama
All corps on the same horns? . . . That can't be hygenic.
Bob984
I guess it is possible, but I would hope not. I think it is always better when there are multiple options out there. It keeps the companies on their toes, and all striving to make a continuously excellent product. GB
