I always thought this would be an interesting rule idea: "There shall be no more than 1/4 of the entire corps fielded by current year age-outs". That would mean World Class corps could not field more than 37.5 (well lets just say 38) members marching their age out at any World class corps - assuming each corps is maxing out their marching members at 150. This would mean - every performer is competing for their spot for their corps for their age out year - and no one is grandfathered in because they marched more than 1 year at that respective corps. Additionally, this would force staff to cherry pick their age outs. This may curb ring chasers spending their last year at a top corps - not that there is anything wrong with that. It would also redistribute talent across all world class corps instead of concentrating them among those top corps. Thoughts?

I am almost 100% certain it is an Ott arrangement. I remember hearing other alumn's say that it was or reading something that mentioned that he was the arranger for that tune. Pretty sweet arangement if you ask me. Not sure that he wrote the other songs in the 80 book though.

Assuming X-men (for whatever reason) scored .1 lower in any of captions tonight, could there be 13 corps in finals? Or would a tie go to the highest average score at the previous regionals? Just wondering.

I feel I can add some input to this thread as I live in Annapolis. I'll try to provide some off the beaten path places, and I'm sure google/trip advisor/yelp will point you to the location Latin/Mexican/South American Food/Spanish - Best concentration of places are around the Annapolis Towne Centre. For Spanish go to Jalapenos, for Latin - Paladar Rum Bar, for South American - go to Sin Fronteras. For Mexican, you'll need to drive a couple minutes to Taqueria Juquilita (whole in the wall - They only takes cash) For all your booze/wine needs - If you want the most selection and want to stock up go to Corridor Wine and Spirits. Corridor is in Laurel MD, so it might not be advantageous to drive out there. If you want to stay in Annapolis, probably the best bet is Bay Ridge Wine Liqours (Taqueria Juquilita is right across the street from it). If you want a more posh environment, with more focus on wine, go to Bin 201 in the Annapolis Towne Centre. Booze restaurant - Go with Gordon Biersch in the Annapolis Towne Centre or the previously mentioned Rams Head For Sushi - Ziki in the Annapolis Towne Centre and Joss Sushi. These are fairly expensive. Ziki has 4 hibachi grills and its pretty fun. So if you get a crowd together it will be worth it. Nova is good if you are staying near Edgewater For foodies - GO TO LEVEL. This place is a small place lounge (Tapas style) but the tastes that come out of the kitchen very unique and extremely good. Nice selection of unique mixed drinks. For those with an unlimited spending limit (Steakhouse) - Go to the Chop House, Lewenes Steak House, or Ruth Chris Chart House. Pub - I'm partial to Galway Bay. Castle Bay has a decent English Breakfast. For Kidsgrove Scouts, I've heard from someone that relocated from England that the bangers and mash from Sly Fox is good. Best quick bite on a budget - Jimmy Johns, Zoe's, Double T (greasy spoon type place) or any fast food place. Best Breakfast - Ive heard amazing things about The Back Porch Cafe, Main Ingredient is decent, Miss Shirley's is really good but really pricey Thai - There is a place called Karlson's Doughnuts and Thai Kitchen, I've only eaten there once, but it wasn't too bad. Pizza - I'm still looking, let me know if you find something good. Vin 909 had a decent pie from what I remember. California Pizza Kitchen at the mall is good too. Indian - Basmati Wings - BW3 Italian - Really pricey = Osteria 177. I asked someone from Italy what was the best Italian food place and he said Osteria 177 was the closest. On Yelp though there is Bella Italia which looks like its close to the stadium German - There is a place that is about a 15 minute drive from Annapolis called the Old Stein, which I hear has authentic German Food. My wife, who was stationed in Germany for 2 years, said its close, but not really that good. Could have been a bad night, but The Old Stein is what most people say is the best place in the area. As for unique things to do, I had a good time on the Annapolis Ghost tour, that was kinda fun. You learn about the history. I believe there is also a Haunted Pub Crawl. Hope this helps.

I heard of a corps that swore off wedgies when a member who had received one had been hoisted up so high that their head hit the top of the bus. I forget if it knocked the person out (or not) for a period of time. Of course, I don't think the people that initiated the wedgie wanted to do harm to the individual. That being said, I have a question: Is putting the slower/slowest runners at the front of the breathing block considered hazing?

94 BD small ensemble - pretty sure one guy was named John Hardwick (sp?) who had marched in Northern Aurora from MI in the early 90's. He also played the "My Spanish Heart" ballad solo. The bari dude, while I dont know the name, I did hear that he just walked up to into the trio and started playing along side them one day, and the part stuck. I've always wondered "who does that?", who just goes up and starts playing in an already existing trio. When you think about it...it doesnt seem like Wayne would have 3 sops and a lone bari. I dunno, maybe someone from 94 can clarify. Lason Lichau was also in the lead line, but I dont think he played any solos that year, except for some spot wailing at about 1:07 in the opener and some other points in the show that year. He also marched Phantom in 93 I think Scott Lile played lead that year too, and then went on to play lead in 1995 Madison. BTW, I thought Scott Steward only marched 93&95 BD? Anyone? 1990 Madison - Guessing Dan Rittaco was in that lead line, but not sure who else. 1993 Madison (Soup)- I believe it is Jon Shipper, Emmit Lincoln, Bill Tyrell, and ???Flip??? 1995 (Malaga) - Edwin Bogart, John Shipper, Tez Smith, Scott Lile, not sure about the rest. 1996 (A mis Abuelos) Jon Shipper was the opening soloist (and soloist for the entire first production), Edwin played in duet La Danza Pasillo, I think BigBadMan was in that line too, along with Ben Toman, and Ben Douglass. From what I hear, it was the highest lead book ever written for the a Madison lead line.

Is Amy F. one of the (if not the) first female to teach on the Madison Brass staff? I guess this could be in the history section too. I'm sure she is very qualified and I think its kinda cool if she is one of the first females to teach with the brass staff.
