kevingamin
Gonna have to work on the ballad, but that's usually the hard part of the show for small groups like this.
N.E. Brigand
Is it better for Blue Saints that SCV famously performed "The Canyon", in that the audience more immediately recognizes the piece (and perhaps mentally fills in some of the gaps), or worse for them, in that the audience compares this to the earlier version? MotorCityMusician
Props to the one Contra player they didn't die at any point.
kevingamin
If I remember correctly, Blue Saints aren't only from Ontario, they are from a really isolated part of Ontario as well. Super small community. In 2009 Teal shared a housing site with them, and we had their brass kids come warm up with ours. Great folks, all about learning. Heck, DCI should have small corps like Blue Saints share housing at every show they do, especially with corps who can give these young kids a chance to see how the "big boys" do it.

Considering they aren't trying to "be" SCV - it's better.

The former. I don't think anyone in the audience was giving SCV a thought at all while watching Blue Saints.
ayesha3
Is there an automatic refresh so I don't have to keep clicking refresh? Are you using Google Chrome? If so there is an auto-refresh thing, just click the wrench icon on the upper right-hand corner. Then click on tools, then click on extensions. Any audience member that compares the two performances is being incredibly unrealistic and should just enjoy the performance they're experiencing now. Agreed. It ended up being a really informal clinic type thing, with them watching our ensemble rehearsal and then eating dinner together. Watching them today, they've come a long way in three years.
