kevingamin
Now for the namesake of this show, Mahler's Symphony No. 1, THE TITAN!
kevingamin
Nice job, tubas. Not an easy bass part to play there. Building into the chord leading into the big finish. Now for the passthrough move by the horns. Corps comes forward and just hits the fans with a big sound. We've got standers, people!
kevingamin
Ahh, I see Phantom has added a field entry to their show. Reminds me of 2008. We all know how THAT year ended. :D
kevingamin
Next on the field is the Phantom Regiment from Rockford, Illinois. Their 2012 program is entitled "Turandot" and consists of: Popolo Di Pekino!...Indietro, Cani by Puccini, Giacomo Gira La Cote!...Perche Tarda La Luna? by Puccini, Giacomo O Mondo, O Mondo...O Tigre, O Tigre! by Puccini, Giacomo Gravi, Enormi Ed Imponenti by Puccini, Giacomo Gloria, Gloria by Puccini, Giacomo Tre Enigmi M'Hai by Puccini, Giacomo Nessun Dorma by Puccini, Giacomo
kevingamin
Wow, I wasn't expecting all the sound effects, BUT I LIKE THEM!!!
kevingamin
Hoots and hollars from the crowd after Phantom opens their show. Serious question: Can Phantom be the dark horse again or is this purely a Crown/BD match-up this week?
kevingamin
I don't remember this snare solo after the beheading. I also didn't think I'd ever type a sentence like that. Man, low brass is changing my life right now!

kevingamin
I am getting the most horn sound from Phantom tonight so far. Phantom is pulling out all their classic stuff in this show. Now it's "opera curtains" to start each movement, a la '91.
Liahona
Nice job, tubas. Not an easy bass part to play there. Building into the chord leading into the big finish. Now for the passthrough move by the horns. Corps comes forward and just hits the fans with a big sound. We've got standers, people! They really set the world on fire last night at TOC show in the rain...more so than the previous night at A-town (which felt a bit flat). I am really hoping that BAC continues this upward intensity trend into championship week.
