  2. I saw I&E in San Antonio last year. It was great. There were a lot of spectators...especially for the percussion and the dance performances. Of course, those spectators were probably mostly corps members since that day was a scheduled free day for most of the corps. Anyway, I had a great time spending the day with my son and watching the shows. I would hate to see it go.
  3. BK - trail their horns in their left hand. Cadets - horn up/down...two-part move.
  4. It appears the rumor I heard some time ago was true and I am really looking forward to hearing their full drum corps arrangement.
  5. Awesome!! Another great show to see at DATR in July.
  6. I'm still rather new to drum corps things...thanks for that info.
  7. A tidbit from Blue Knight camp this weekend.
  8. A wonderful presentation. I thank you for going through the word involved to construct it.I'll have to leave the analysis, interpretation and judgment of your presentation to others who have more knowledge of past and present DCI judging. It is clear, though, that DCI does place more emphasis on visual than performance now-a-days. Whether that is a good thing or bad thing, I think, is up to subjective opinion. Personally, I don't have such an opinion. When I go to see a show, I'm more concerned with the entertainment value that I get. I think visual plays a greater role in that respect. From a Corps' point of view, though, I suspect they realize what you've shown and design their shows accordingly.
  9. I really don't have any idea who would make a good ninth member of the BoD, but I have a question for you Michael: Does this ninth member need to be a Corps Director?Perhaps the person could be from outside the activity?
  10. Blue Knights 2013 (NoBeginningNoEnd) - All you can eat buffet
  11. If you can't laugh at yourself...you have no character. Great site...very funny.
  12. I am disgusted with people who leak. Unless that person was a Colts-hater who snuck into the show and tell (or whatever they call it) for the sole purpose of leaking the performance, I can only conclude he cares more about himself than about the Corps he went to see. Any redeeming qualities that person had as a human being were totally negated by their callous, uncaring disregard for the wishes of the Corps. I have video of Blue Knights show and tell. I know about their music. But you will never see me post it to the Internet because I have respect for the Corps and for their wishes.
  13. Don't really care about protests, politics and such...one reason why their 2012 show didn't resonate with me all that much. But the musical selections are great and if they can come up with a good drill and all the rest to go along with the music I'll probably like this show as much as I liked their last one. I hope y'all place high this year, Crossmen. Work hard and good luck.
  14. A little bit of something from BK's camp this last weekend:
  15. My money is limited, so I'll support whatever organization Blue Knight is in. I assume that organization will remain DCI.
  16. Good luck, City Sound. I hope to see you come out to Denver one of these years. I'll be watching DAtR this year...BE THERE!!
  17. I can see something like this being a good I&E performance, but the basis for a field show??? I think not.
  18. While I see that as an idea worth investigating by interested parties, I don't see it as having much to do with the current situation regarding The Seven's latest proposal (ultimatum?)
  19. Maybe. I'd have to first see if they do, in fact, go in a different direction than DCI...or if they try to do the same thing they are doing in DCI.
  20. I'd say that, when it come right down to it, that's up to Star to answer. In my mind, though, I'd say the direction of the move wasn't any of those. They went in a totally different direction that has no relation to their position in DCI.
  21. I'm wondering if BD or Cadets would have to get permission from DCI to do something like that?
