loopin' froot loops
Interesting characterization. So you have personal knowledge that they're hesitant to feature soloists ? Mind explaining your source for this insight. Since 2007 huh? No soloists since then? Just wonderin' Anyway to answer the OP's question, no -- no soloists this year. I'll just put it this way. Since then, to my knowledge, they haven't had as prominent of featured soloists as in, say, the mello soloist from 2007. Have they had soloists since then? Yes, they have (09,10,12, and 13 off the top of my head), but IMO, not nearly as prominent as that one. All the years I mentioned above in parentheses had solos which were very short in comparison. Granted, I haven't watched the some of those shows in a while, so if I'm not remembering the length of those solos correctly then my apologies. It's just my observation, combined with a little inside knowledge. Hesitant probably wasn't the best word to use, but oh well lol.
corpsband
Hesitant probably wasn't the best word to use, but oh well lol. no worries and the above sums up the reason i replied at all. fwiw i think it's mostly been their rep choices dictating the solo thing. otoh they put a lot of critical moments in Nick Starr's hands (but he's got ice in his veins :-)

jackroberts
Wait, what happened in 2007? Why would they be hesitant to add soloists?
Kevin.
Rough run tonight and Crown fell far behind Cadets, but I've never been more optimistic about this show. Next couple of weeks will tell the tale! Keep pushing Crown!

Next couple of weeks will tell the tale! Keep pushing Crown! Crown still has a lot of dirt to clean (IMO far more than the Cadets). Changes were all good and I dont see any worries about GE. They need to buckle down and clean. And that guard needs to start werking a little harder at being consistent every night. I can see some members who need to join the old spin club They need to win that caption every night !!
