jbeatty89
For the corps at the top, cadets, BD, Crown now, its an expectation to be in that competition for gold or to medal. Anything less is a disappointment. These corps also draw the top talent so i doubt they will be discouraged for future seasons from going for it again. This really isn't the mission of the Cadets. I marched in Crossmen during the YEA years and had numerous coprs meetings with George Hopkins and regardless of what people think of him his goals aren't winning. I can't know what other directors are thinking honestly but I have my doubts that it is all about winning for them either. They're primary mission is and should always be teaching at the highest level possible and bringing out the best in each individual performer, while teaching valuable life lessons along the way. However, from the members stand point, it is a lot more likely that for most, if not all, their goal is to win at these corps.
garfield
But....but....but why can't MY favorite corps win????? If you make them all your favorite you can be just as excited for whomever is leading at the moment.
