1985 Cadets - Profanation from Jeremiah Symphony
va9590jm replied to Quad Aces's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I believe this is the year they started stepping off with the right foot because of the mixed meter. It was a way to break old habits and trick the brain. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm completely wrong, though. -
And even then, those won't be available until way after the fact, too. They're typically a full season behind because of when they get filed, any extensions, etc.

best drill outside of the top 6?

Crossmen 02. The entrance from the corner of the stadium alone was cool to watch. -
Assembling a top 12 to watch Saturday

This was a bit challenging, but here's what I got: 1 Cadets 2000 2 Star 93 3 BD 06 4 Crown 08 5 Glassmen 99 6 BK 15 7 SCV 92 8 Blue Stars 10 9 Crossmen 02 10 Madison 01 11 Bluecoats 91 12 Spirit 03 13 Colts 14 14 Pac Crest 19 I found it was easier starting with the first show that came to mind for placements and working from there. -
Agreed on the gray making it hard to stand out. But at the same time, at least in this day and age of new uniforms every year and not being able to tell who is who if you miss the announcements, at least Genesis is one of those that is somewhat more consistent with color/design than others. I can tell looking at them that this is Genesis without having to ask. posted from the DrumScorps app

Music City has a nice show and all, but it just doesn’t pack the same punch as last year. I loved what they did last year and it was always fun to watch. Today’s run seemed kind of flat compared to last week, in my opinion. If Genesis has a good run, they might be able to pull away from Music City a bit. posted from the DrumScorps app

DCI By the Decade - The 2000s

Cavies were also 4th in 2009. No corps was a medalist for all 10 years in the decade. -
DCI Eastern Classic – Friday, August 3, 2018

As much as I hate to say it (because I was really hoping to see Mandarins (non-standstill), BD, and SCV...it was the correct call by DCI and the corps. Radar looked bad, and then when the rain really picked up, I hope everyone had already loaded up so they weren’t still loading in that rain. posted from the DrumScorps app -

Last tile the corps was in the Midwest this time of year, 2013, I believe, members I talked to said the crowds were underwhelming compared to those on the New England or west coast swings. I wonder if that’s the case again this year and if that’s having any impact? I also wonder if there’ll be a difference with the scores going back to back with Phantom instead of several corps apart. They were only .2 behind just a few days ago! posted from the DrumScorps app -
Or it also could just be the way the runs/panels worked out. Still within striking distance with a new panel tomorrow. If Bones brings it... posted from the DrumScorps app

From everything I've seen and heard, yes, Downington on Saturday. Says so as well on the website calendar for the housing.

The second one is where they are staying Saturday night into Sunday because of their annual banquet which they have started holding the Sunday after DCI East in Allentown since 2014 with the 40th anniversary celebration.

The REAL San Antonio Rough Riders Thread

I really don't understand how they're beating Blue Stars and Crossmen in brass. Both on Flo and live it's just way rough all around. posted from the DrumScorps app -

This is waaaay too long for them to not notice. This is ridiculous. You would think after the screw-up with Crossmen a couple weeks back they would make sure to never screw up the sound like that again. posted from the DrumScorps app
