OrlandoContraAlum
I don't know how new this edition of the Essentials series is, but this is an easy purchase for any of us "dinosaur" fans. Just look at this lineup: 1973 Troopers 1980 Bridgemen 1985 Suncoast - A Florida Suite (Whoop Whoop!) 1987 Santa Clara 1988 Blue Devils 1989 Phantom - New World 1990 Cavaliers - Anthems (I think) 1990 Star - Belshazzar's Feast 1992 Cadets - To Tame The Perilous Skies 1992 Crossmen - Songs for Planet Earth 1995 Madison - A Drum Corps Fan's Dream 2000 Boston - Red 2007 Crown - Triple Crown That's one heck of a collection... George Dixon
that's an amazing line up of great shows - Star 90, Suncoast 85 & Troopers 73 alone make it worth my buy thanks for the heads up!
Kamarag
Good lord, you'd be really hard pressed to put together a better, most diverse lineup of different corps/shows than that.

FlamMan
Its a shame that their werent any great shows between 1974 & 1979.
OrlandoContraAlum
Its a shame that their werent any great shows between 1974 & 1979. You mean like: 1973 SCV and 1975 Madison (On Essentials Volume 1) or 1972 Kingsmen and 1976 Blue Devils (On Essentials Volume 2)? Edit: I realize two of the shows are outside your range, but wanted to show that the Seventies are pretty well represented. BRASSO
WHERE'S STAR 93????? (Not that I'm not buying it but...) Good question. One would have thought DCI would have had '93 Star in one of their 3 editions of this by now. Not sure why the ommision so far. That said, I'll buy this 3rd edition, as I did the first 2. Star 93 plays much better on video than it does on audio only, while Belshazzar's Feast really, really works without the visual element (along with '89 in my opinion). I think it's a great choice. I'm with you in dropping some cash.
Kamarag
Its a shame that their werent any great shows between 1974 & 1979. While DCI has covered that range before, I do wish they'd pull their collective heads out of their rears over the 1975 Muchachos and give us that recording in one of these collections.
bmjfelts1988
WHERE'S STAR 93????? (Not that I'm not buying it but...) Take a really close look at the line up. There is only one year per corps. And I agree with picking 90 over 93 Star. 93 Star was revolutionary from a design and visual standpoint, but the reality is, back then, people hated Star 93 as much as people hated BD 2013. 90 on the other hand was all balls from beginning to end!!!
