How hard is it to make the blue devils?

Recommended Posts

yes, Blue Angels were a corps from Danvers, Massachusetts not California.

There was a drum and bell corps from...iirc San Leandro named Blue Angels.

To the point: an audtionee can only do their best to display the ability to meet the needs of the auditioning corps.

The audtionee's job then, is to anticipate the needs. The amount of work necessary to achieve that depends soley on how far along the path they've already come.

It may be hard to make a top line, or it may not. The certainty is only known if attempted.

Ya gotta try.

Hmm. all of a sudden this year this is about the third time you have been homering for BD enterprises.

Did you have to sell your soul to get them to come to your Dublin doings or something???

System Blue for you, heh? :exclamation:

Only 3? You've miscounted.

Actually, they called us and asked to be in our show.

We like Cadets, too!

:tounge2:

Actually, I'm a homer for lots of corps.

" How easy is it to make the Blue Devils ? ". Its a piece of cake.

If you know how to bake one, and willing to volunteer in the kitchen.

One thing danced around on this topic but never really hit on is this-

An individual might be "good enough", but the staff may feel they're not 'as good a fit' with that corps as someone else is.

It may not be attitude, talent, just a perception the staff gets that's not really the fault of that individual applicant. The plethora of applicants allows the staffs to be that choosy.

Which goes a long way to explain how someone might get cut at BD and offered a spot at Crown and vice versa.

Dan's post awhile ago is close- go somewhere you're wanted, feel comfortable, and happy as a member, chasing a ring is secondary.

One might wander to BD's FB page to get a photo of today's combine. A friend sent me a pic with a number over 400. I don't FB.

Maybe the answer to the OP's question is better answered by that FB post than all the advice from this board combined.
