Just to be an ### and take the devil's advocate point of view....# 1 may end up anywhere from .5 - to 2 points below last year's winning score. Yet, I would surmise that 12th place would equal last year's score, if not exceed it. So where exactly does the apparent "weakness" lie??? (Which, in and of itself, is a totally useless argument on my part. But in the semifinal competition, corps in 10-11- & 12 are fighting to stay in the top 12 and perhaps even gain the 10th slot, whereas corps in 13, 14, & 15 are hoping for the performance-of-the-year to leapfrog them into one of the Finals slots. Six corps are fighting for three slots and at least two of those three slots (and most likely all three) will go to the corps currently holding them...... And in the end, after all the individual tete-a-tetes have been completed in a normal DCP year...I would of the very first to agree with you. I think you, of all people, know that to be true.
