JoeDz
The US Marine Corps Drum & Bugle Corps managed to take their performance to a new level while maintaining the military bearing associated with the corps. Their choice of music for their field show was outstanding and performed with the same excellence shown by all the corps this weekend. The pride they feel in themselves transfers to the audience almost immediately, leaving everyone ready for a truly inspiring night of drum corps excellence !!!
kdaddy
I agree. The design of their show was kicked up a couple notches from years past, it seems. I don't recall them moving so much (and for such a lengthy show) when I've seen them previously. And Holsinger at that!
84BDsop
Kinda wish they'd compete at DCA...
contracurt
Just over 85% of the corps are DCI alumns.
TRacer
Just over 85% of the corps are DCI alums.Did they have to make the switch to G, or are they old guys?
contracurt
Did they have to make the switch to G, or are they old guys? Everybody has to learn G if you want to play in the USMC D & B. No matter what your age is.
84BDsop
Everybody has to learn G if you want to play in the USMC D & B. No matter what your age is. And 2 VALVED G at that. Their brass inventory is the newest set of 2 valve horns out there.
soccerguy315
Just over 85% of the corps are DCI alumns. then they can step up the drill another couple notches!! I was really impressed with their drill improvements this year... I think it reflects very positively on the ensemble. Did they get a new drill writer? Or ask their old one to kick it up? Ghost
Did they get a new drill writer? Or ask their old one to kick it up? Not sure, but don't they use their own military personnel to write/teach them?
TRacer
Everybody has to learn G if you want to play in the USMC D & B. No matter what your age is. My question was purely rhetorical...after all the expert opinions I've read on DCP, I was sure switching from Bb to G was humanly impossible.
