2015 vs. 2016 - Daily Year over Year Comparisons

Recommended Posts

August 12, 2016 -- August 7, 2015

2016 - There weren't too many changes in position, but one was a doozy! Boston Crusaders passed Madison Scouts to take the last spot in finals. This show was the only time that Boston beat Madison head-to-head. The Cavaliers also retook the #5 spot from The Cadets and Genesis passed Legends for #23. Blue Knights saw the biggest score increase over prelims (+0.700) while Legends fell the most (-2.825). The Academy makes finals for the first time in its history. Madison Scouts miss finals for the first time since 2009.

2015 - Blue Devils return from a penalty the night before with the largest score increase (+1.275), good for 2 spots in the standings from #4 to #2. Mandarins decrease (-0.600). The only other corps moving in placement is The Cadets, switching spots with Blue Devils in 4th position.

Year over Year - For the second year in a row, we head into finals with a corps having won the first two nights of the weekend (Bluecoats in 2016, Carolina Crown in 2015) but a very small lead (0.275 in 2016, 0.150 in 2015). Once again the #3 corps is also less than 1 point out of the lead (0.338 in 2016, 1.000 in 2015). Four corps are now on track for an improvement of 4 positions from 2015 to 2016: The Cavaliers (#9 to #5), The Academy (#15 to #11), Blue Devils B (#19 to #15), Gold (#34 to #30). Madison Scouts (#8 to #13) had the greatest decline year over year.
