Crossmen 2017

Recommended Posts

I want to praise the corps for it's show tonight. To be just 1.75 behind Phantom and to beat both Phantom and Blue Knights in two captions (PA and CG) is significant.

They still have stuff to work on, but this is great. Tomorrow is the "home show" and I look forward to seeing where they stand.

this is the part of the season where it is time for the design team to figure out the final touches they will need, and then the kids to go for it with everything they have...

if that happens, they could finish the season where the Crossmen haven't finished in 2 decades.

From the whispers I heard, they have known on particular design change all season and are just waiting for the right time to make it.  The ending was changed earlier this week according to a video that they distributed.

The thing they seem to need to figure out most is the Music Analysis caption.  That seems to be where they are most behind the corps ahead of them.

good result tonight... still basically tied with Blue Stars.  Might be that way until the end and flip flop during the last 3 shows in Indy.

These two corps seem to be each other's nemesis since the 2012 season that the Crossmen snuck up into Finals over Blue Stars.  It's an interesting footnote that the Blue Stars were the corps that officially filed the complaint that got the Crossmen disqualifed all the way back in 1976.  Karma?

By the numbers on the San Antonio sheets, the Blue Stars execution scores aren't as close to their content scores as their content.  So, that's in their favor.  But, it will probably come down to GE in the end, as it usually does.

I had never heard that it was the Blue Stars that did that.  I know Crossmen and Blue Stars were touring together in those southern DCI shows in August of 76.

I think the question mark open drill form is super cool...

maybe a throw back?  a nod to the past?

Yes, it's exactly like the end of the '92 show.
