Spandy
Seven in A sounds right: Alliance, Chops, Tradition, Thunderbirds, Excelsior, Govenaires, Southern Knights. But I count 13 in Open: Atlanta CV, Bushwackers, Cadets2, Carolina Gold, Hurricanes, Fusion, Caballeros, Kidsgrove Scouts, Sunrisers, Minnesota Brass, Buccaneers, Skyliners, White Sabers

N.E. Brigand
Numbers at the previous ten years of championships: 2007 -- 22 corps >> 9 Class A + 13 Open Class 2008 -- 24 corps >> 12 Class A + 12 Open Class 2009 -- 24 corps >> 11 Class A + 13 Open Class 2010 -- 23 corps >> 12 Class A + 11 Open Class 2011 -- 21 corps >> 10 Class A + 11 Open Class 2012 -- 20 corps >> 8 Class A + 12 Open Class 2013 -- 23 corps >> 11 Class A + 12 Open Class 2014 -- 19 corps >> 5 Class A + 14 Open Class 2015 -- 20 corps >> 7 Class A + 13 Open Class 2016 -- 19 corps >> 5 Class A + 14 Open Class So 7 Class A and 13 Open Class this year means one better than last year and the same as two years ago. I would absolutely love for there to be at least twice as many corps in Prelims as can make Finals, but DCA seems at least to be somewhat stable for now.
