DrumManTx
SUPER tasty front ensemble writing and playing to start this show. Very mature, especially considering these are all high school aged kids!

A question for those of you who do this professionally: Wouldn't having a small group prompt you to think much differently about the drill and other show design elements? I know Impulse wasn't doing BD stuff. But it was still sort of mini drill that looked pretty much like drum corps drill. I'd think you want to exploit a smaller space and concentrate elements (instead of spreading them out so often) to get bigger impact. Hey, I teach finance, so what do I know? Watching the SoundSport groups in San Antonio, they all did the same thing - mini "DCI" drill, just in a confined space. Mike

I like it when smaller Corps fence off part of the field like Les Stentors (and Racine did it in their last years) and confine their drill. I don't know if such a decision affects any part of their score or not.
DrumManTx
Percussion is all around incredibly solid.
KVG_DC
Horns are a nice size. As is the battery and pit. Guard seems small. I wonder if that's a recruiting thing or a limitation to avoid silks costs so they can do all this other fabric stuff. Which is neat stuff by the way. Very effective again for a small guard. Edit to add. I think I said this in the Minneapolis thread to. Deja vu. Edited August 7, 2017 by KVG_DC
MikeN
Forgive me - I'm on a tiny screen here - what was the black screen over the hornline about? Just playing under it or did they do something else? Mike
KVG_DC
Looking for lost hats after that fabric over tall plumes on aussies. Only one plume it looks!
DrumManTx
Don't wanna keep focusing on percussion but they're GOOD.
