DrumCorpsRadio
June 27, 2018 vs. June 28, 2017 2018 Phantom Regiment had the greatest increase in score (2.25) with no corps decreasing in score. The Cavaliers and Blue Stars each moved up three spots to #2 and #9 respectively, however that was with the other corps out of action in the same neighborhood. Music City debuted at #19 in its first World Class performance. Spirit of Atlanta makes its debut tonight. 2017 Only one show with scores so not a lot to report. Madison Scouts put up the greatest score increase (2.50) with no one decreasing in score. The Cavaliers moved up two spots from #5 to #3 while Phantom Regiment moved down two spots from #10 to #12. Music City debuted at #22. Comparison Each year, this week features several East/Midwest shows while the West hunkers down in rehearsals. Everything tends to balance itself out when all the corps return to action at the end of the week.

They are SO close! Edited June 29, 2018 by DrumCorpsRadio Music City location corrected

DrumCorpsRadio
June 28, 2018 vs. June 29, 2017 2018 The Cadets saw the largest score increase (2.95). No corps decreased in score. Boston Crusaders gained the most spots in the rankings (+3 to 3rd) while Colts lost the most spots (-2 to 15th). Last Night's Storylines: Spirit of Atlanta debuted in 13th place. Spirit of Atlanta defeated Madison Scouts for the first time since July 24, 2009. Tonight's Storylines: Carolina Crown and The Cavaliers meet for the first time since opening night. In three subsequent days, Mandarins went from 3.700 to 2.300 to 0.600 down from Blue Knights. After several days of rehearsals for both corps, where will they match up? Crossmen and Blue Stars face off for the first time this season. Last year Blue Stars edged Crossmen in 10 out of 15 meetings but by an average margin of just 0.256 points. Where will they begin the 2018 season? In their last meeting, Crossmen trailed Phantom Regiment by just 0.200 points after trailing by 1.850 just two days earlier. Which is the true margin? Vessel makes its DCI debut although the same corps performed under the name City Sound from 2010-2014. Gold, Golden Empire, Impulse, Incognito, Watchmen and Pacific Crest also make their season debuts. 2017 There were no shows.
DrumCorpsRadio
June 29, 2018 vs. June 30, 2017 2018 There were six debut performances: Pacific Crest (#19), Gold (#23), Golden Empire (#26), Vessel (#27), Impulse (#28), Watchmen (#30), and Incognito (#31). Santa Clara Vanguard saw the greatest score increase (3.10) after several days of rehearsal. Blue Knights (2.45), Carolina Crown (2.20), and Troopers (2.05) also saw 2+ point increases. Genesis was the only corps to see a score decrease (-0.45). Bluecoats maintained its #1 placement despite not being in competition. Last Night's Storylines: Carolina Crown increased its lead over The Cavaliers from 0.65 in Detroit to 1.25 in Muncie. Blue Knights increased its lead over Mandarins from 0.60 in Sacramento to 1.25 in Oceanside. Crossmen took the first head-to-head battle with Blue Stars by a 0.25 margin. The margin between Phantom Regiment and Crossmen returned to 1.80 after one show at just 0.20. Tonight's Storylines: Blue Devils return to competition for the first time in six days. Last year, they saw a whopping 4.10 point increase and jumped from #4 to #1 after this rehearsal swing. The biggest question will be how Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard stack up after the extended days in rehearsal for both corps. Raiders makes its season debut. 2017 Two shows were rained out so there is much less to report than anticipated. Despite five days since the last competitive score for several corps, there were significant increases in scores for the World Class corps in the California show. The highest increase (1.55) went to Santa Clara Vanguard, moving them up to a tie for third with The Cavaliers. Several Open Class corps debuted: Gold in 23rd, Watchmen in 26th, Impulse in 29th, and Incognito in 30th. We lost several debuts and the potential for large increases due to a few corps that were coming back from a string of rehearsal days with the Allentown and Muncie rainouts. We'll need to wait another day to see what's been going on on the East Coast when corps return to action in Clifton.
