Sounds good but well-heeled DCI (not DCA) would have to take over this role, but what would be in it for DCI? Back when Gail Royer was running SCV and Jim Jones was running the Troopers, DCI took a pass on absorbing DCA. That would have been a much better time for this IMO. Some have said they’re training corps - training for what? Some have said more affordable vs DCI touring corps - training becomes somewhat irrelevant if one cannot afford DCI touring fees. Some have said a place for DCI age outs - what percentage of DCI age outs make up a typical DCA organization? I’m a believer in that if you change nothing, nothing’s ever going to change. Not convinced there is a need for all-age. i didn't say i supported doing nothing in terms of changes...but for several years moves made haven't helped. maybe with a new president some change will happen. Williamsport has proven to not be the great step forward some projected
KeithHall
Can corps continue to fundraise when there is no marching season again? If a corps was using Bingo that is done. How can any corps sustain?

downtown
When we finally do come out from under this pandemic cloud, ALL of Drum Corps is going to struggle a little to get back to normal. It was mentioned that DCA Leadership may end up doing other things to occupy their time and it's more than likely that many members from Corps in DCA will do the same. You are correct. DCA as we know it it dead. That being said I do believe that if DCI were to take on All-Age and grow the product it could work. DCI would have no strict timeline to go follow. Because it's under DCI's umbrella they might be able to sell the idea of All-Age to member DCI Corps. An excellent way to keep age-outs engaged. I also see a way for DCI to grow DCI Championships by making it an entire week of all Drum Corps activity represented. Everyone comes to Indianapolis. Something for everyone and DCI counts the money. Yes, it will start out small I'm sure but has the potential to grow into something real special.

Imagine that . That’s gone downhill since I joined alumni type one in 2004. The big names (Cabs, Sky) are around but there are lesser names I haven’t seen mentioned even before Covid. Only time I’ve noticed minis is DCA and that is way down from the peak.

If people like doing it and others like watching, where does “need” come in?

From what I’ve read and seen the interest level is at a very low bar. But knock yourself out!
