I imagine it'd be pretty hard to be an alternate in the design of today's shows. There's so much particular this and that to do depending on where you're plugged into the show.

 

Also the sheer amount of COVID quarantines seems to overwhelm the ability to fill with alternates when it hits.

[also more pops on the sound..it does sound like plugs being fiddled with to the feed. I've had those pops while messing with getting my theremin connected sometimes]

My noise-sensitive dog fled the room when those first showed up. He is fine with the corps themselves.

I think the days of alternates has passed. There might be a few that hang around early on for experience.
