GmenBari78
82 thru 84 is best for the Freelancers.Strange fact: From the top 12 of 1983, only 7 are currently active. Those who have gone under: SunCoast Sound Freelancers 27th Lancers Bridgemen SkyRiders Another strange fact: 1983 was the last year the Freelancers beat the Cavaliers. Last strange fact: 1984 was the first year the Velvet Knights made finals. For those interested in other trivia like this, see the topic I started here. nhsalan
How about Avant Garde and Pride of Cincinatti? or did I miss them in someone elses' list? Didn't like the Avant Garde uni much (LOUD yellow) but liked the corps and Pride of Cincinatti had the COOLEST retreat tune of anyone in '83 or '84 (can't remember which), "Things Aint' What They Used To Be". I think it was in their show too, but not positive. Later, AA

Kekasse
Les Etoles 1998 was the first drum corps I ever saw live. What show was it ??
Kekasse
Yes unlike most of the "dead" corps out there, The Freelancers still have their non-profit status and have a winter drumline. Which is closest to anyone to putting a corps back on the field. Same thing for Les Étoiles, but I don't think we'll see them on the field again :( ... Cainan
Why does everyone leave the Freelancers off the list? Were we really that inconsequential on the history of DCI?
skajerk
You must've missed the second post in this thread... Freelancers! I know that they are always promising a return, but I want them back with the rest of your list. And yes, the Freebasers...Flearanchers... Freelancers are missed greatly.
