uncle z
fastbreak, you killed #3, #8 and #9. You cannot receive partial credit for #11 or #12, though. Please go to M. Schettl Freight Sales west of Oshkosh and pick out a bass baritone/ashtray. Have them remove the ashtray and charge it to uncle z, then practice your chops for your retro '80s date with Bonnie Ott in Appleton!!! audiodb, awesome job on #3, #4, #8 and #11!!! Step to the front of the bus where we'll drop you off at the bar across the street from the Sheboygan Armory. Have a drink on uncle z and reminisce about the Buccaneers and the Accents!! Paul Milano
Does the Mars Cheese Castle still have the mulit-colored shingled roof (or has it moved since all the porno mag shops have started popping up in I-94)? Either way, if I can produce my 1964 snare drum sheet music for "Shenandoah," may I have some frozen custard instead? How about some white bean soup from George Webb's hamburger shop? A drink from any bubbler? What if I can properly pronounce Kinnickinnic? Can I ride a trolley for a dime? Oh well, I moved from Milwaukee in 1964. I'm starting to forget things . . . uncle z
Paul Milano, you already have your prize from Wisconsin!!!!!!! However, I will travel with you early '80s to Superdawg on Milwaukee Avenue, afterward we can head towards Niles and stop by Mike Bockmann working at Slingerland Drum Company or head back toward the city and stop by Sam Flores a the Drum Shop. fastbreak
uncle z, Your reference to the Buccaneers and the Accents for your prize at the Armory Bar was interesting. Question back to you; Name the 5 marching groups in Sheboygan during the middle 70's. None of the groups were a drum corps.

That reminds me of when some of us used to tour the Ludwig plant with Frank Arsenault. We asked why they stacked the unfinished bass drum shells on top of each other like that (sideways, eight or ten shells high)? He said that is where they would hide the "illegal" workers when the INS came around to inspect! How about I take you to lunch at Portillo's (before it became fancy, and was just in an old abandoned construction trailer)? Slaw or onions on that dawg? uncle z
dans24103, you get style points for the old Drum Corps Digest--go to the local thrift store, find a greek fisherman's cap, charge it to uncle z, and then you can wander around the rear of the stadium like roamin' roman blenski!!!!! fastbreak--you are asking me to remember 1970's drill teams???? I guess my weak take would be Buccaneers, Accents, Accent Cadets, hmmm, the only other drill teams I can remember are the Silhouettes, Manitowoc Shipmates and Green Bay's Northern Step. (banishes self to kiddy bus <**> ) Hey, are you guys gonna let the ex-Kilties have a chance, or not??
RobH
uncle z's my kinda guy. Mars Cheese Castle is the GREATEST place for cheese in America - right off I94 - been there, done that many times! So, Uncle z, you're striking me as an "old school" kinda guy - which is great, since I am too! And maybe is why I'm too old to post here at DCP.
