charphar
Looking at the recaps from DCI prelims, I was amazed at the poor showing of the Kilties' horn line. Seventeenth?!? Ow! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Let me see if the Amazing Kreskin Z can recall '75 Kilts repertoire without consulting corpsreps.com-- OTL--The Third Hoorah (Tull before Garfield!!) Concert--Roll Over Beethoven Production--Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thang Drum Solo--That Irish Washerwoman Baby Exit--Auld Lang Syne Someone give me my props, NOW!!!! :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep...as someone else reminded you...you forgot "O Fortuna" (from Orff's "Carmina Burana") in between "The Third Hurrah" and "Roll Over Beethoven." Also, the seventeenth place in horns may have had a little something to do with "O Fortuna." There were some pretty serious "phasing" problems toward the end, IIRC... All in all, though, Kilties in 75 was - and is - one of this old phart's favorites! B)
audiodb
OK, went to corpsreps-Oakland was 4th in Prelims, my memory is sketchy on that one, they were 7th in finals<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can't believe no one has caught this yet.... Oakland Crusaders were 6th in the 1975 finals.

The landscape was so very different from year to year back then....Althought 04 may be the beginning of something big!!

My only excuse is that I didn't march that year. :P

KeithHall
I liked Royal Crusaders but wasn't sure they should have been in Top 12. I heard a rumor from a PR guy who had aged out that there was some "back room dealings" with Royal Crusaders that if they had the numbers they would make top 12 in 1975. They did make it but not sure if they should have. Looking at the recaps from DCI prelims, I was amazed at the poor showing of the Kilties' horn line. Seventeenth?!?
