Happy BIRTHDAY, LANCERFI!

Recommended Posts

Here's to a very Happy Birthday to my rifle girl, my connection to the old school from the East Coast, the wonderful days of yesteryear, the woman who represents all that is great and beautiful about drum corps and its colorful history, and I wish you many many more birthdays to come!

I just love her!

And if I may,

Nancy is a beautiful, kind, and wonderful human being!

........as well as a babe!!!!!!!!!!!

And even more important: A TRUE CLASS ACT!

Am trying to find that great pic of her in the yellow t-shirt throwing a rifle but don't remember which thread it was in! Same with that 94 Lancer Alum Corps pic that she looked so great in!

Nancy? Can you help me here?

:rolleyes:

My best regards, too, Nancy!

Time for the Birthday Toast:

"...'Tis indeed your birthday, Lassie! But I choose to drink to your coffin.

May it be made from the stout wood of a hundred year old oak.....

....which I shall myself plant sometime in the future...."

RON HOUSLEY

Where she goes

Stout Wood follows.

I'm gonna top you all - here's a perfect poem for Nancy on her special day, by the great Scots poet Robert Burns, written in the proper dialect, no less:

O my Luve's like a red, red rose,

That's newly sprung in June:

O my Luve's like the melodie,

That's sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,

So deep in luve am I;

And I will luve thee still, my dear,

Till a' the seas gang dry.

Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,

And the rocks melt wi' the sun;

And I will luve thee still, my dear,

While the sands o' life shall run.

And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!

And fare-thee-weel, a while!

And I will come again, my Luve,

Tho' 'twere ten thousand mile!

Oh, I just LOVE that Bobbie Burns! I studied Robert Burns in my English Lit classes in college.

I have read several posts by you LancerFi and I just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday. The 2-7 colorguard was the apple of my eye when I first saw them during the 1977 season. You girls were and are the most lovely and classy women on the field and I still hold you all dear to my heart....again feliz cumpleanos
