ACustom19
Yes...I'm not Chris. Magic is supposed to have these drums by their next camp. I'd look for a report on them from there...
MikeN
And it does crack me up that the title to this thread says "not a joke." The first thing that I (and I'm sure a *lot* of drummers) thought was, "this is a joke, right?" Mike
TenorsForWorldDomination
These drums are 4 generations ahead of whats currently on the market. Some how I highly doubt this. That is a such a strong statement to make against Yamaha, Pearl, and Dynasty which seem to be the most innovative companies. Especially Pearl. I'm a HUGE fan of Yamaha but I can easily say Pearl holds the crown for innovation. If that statement is about their own product and what they offer now then I can see that being valid but if they mean the whole market that statement is inane. gbass598
Didn't Troopers use Ludwig's for their drumline back in '94-'95?I remember them warming up as Glassmen headed to their warm-up site and the sound actually made me think that our Remo Legatos sounded good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't speak for 94 but the Troopers used Stingray drums in '95. ACustom19
I believe they are making that statement against former Ludwig product, not against other products on the market.

ChiBoyinLA
In related news, the Magic hornline will be fielding valve-rotor horns, the rifle line will be using M-1 carbines, and the corps will be touring the country in newly re-designed Scenic Cruisers. But you're more right that you know ! The only 'new' feature they might see is a special color on the drums. And, from personal experience, they should only have to rebuild 1 set of tenors a day ! dpdc77
There are a couple of pictures on Maigc's website of the new drums from this past camp. The design looks the same to me. We''ll see this summer I guess. link to here: http://www.magicoforlando.org/photos/042205-camp/index.htm Edited April 25, 2005 by dpdc77
TenorsForWorldDomination
They will either have the strongest backs and shoulders or the worst by the end of the summer. Ludwigs are HEAVY!!!
