  1. V09! Also, congrats to the RQ! Another percussion section winning best showmanship!
  2. I feel I must reply. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah cookie cutter. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah jazz. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah 32 count hold. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah MBI. Blah blah blah blah blah blah Renegades. DCA There. That should spawn about 737 more replies. Happy 2009. Lets learn that we all play horns, percussion and spin flags. Does the other stuff matter that much?
  3. ####. You mean to me, I'm missing soooo much money by not taking color guard teaching jobs where I live? Jesus, what am I thinking? Let me get on my phone and make sure all the other peeps I marched with don't miss out on this opportunity! Thanks for the tip!
  4. It was also a transition year as well. As far as way fewer notes, I'd probably disagree.
  5. Wow... Let's just enjoy the ride. Cymbal that is...
  6. Great video! Cool to see Swerv in there rockin' out... Go Bucs!!!!!
  7. We are doing very well! This year's show is entitled "Interruptions". We compete in TIA and WGI. I have seen your autograph on the Blast poster in the Chorus room...Good stuff.
  8. Lower Dauphin HS Indoor Drumline is playing zappadiddles as a stick control exercise. PM me your e-mail and I'll send it to you.
  9. Thanks Jazzy, I was definitely being sarcastic. I am very proud of what I have been taught and will continue to teach the youth I come in contact with. I also will always know there will be those who have no idea too...
  10. Thanks for minimizing my whole drum corps marching and teaching experience. It means a lot.
  11. Kudos to you Jared, I laughed out loud at work...
  12. In 2003, my girlfriend Krysti hopped into the Reading Buccaneers cymbal line two weeks before finals after marching that year with the Bluecoats. It can happen.
  13. I did at the time. I tried out for SCV in 2004 and was cut. I did not go out for a junior corps in 2005 (my ageout). I have not regretted not doing a junior corps that was closer... I taught for Jersey Surf this past summer. I have gotten my DCI experience.
  14. I didn't waste my years in a senior corps. I was 19-22 years of age when I marched. I could have done junior and almost did so, but it was not to be, and I have not regretted it. I don't feel that any of the Bucs alumni who marched Crossmen, and vice versa, would say it was wasted time. Either would the staff of both corps. Many of them were/are/have been the same people...
  15. I can try and get a photo soon and post it ASAP...I should be in that area pretty much every weekend.
  16. Just a little tidbit about Smoothieville... Aftermath Indoor Percussion Ensemble (Now United Percussion) did practice and still practices at Smoothieville. In one of the rooms inside the complex, there is still an old Crossmen drum and bugle corps sticker on the door of one of the rooms. It is almost in perfect condition, even after years and years of use at the facility. I always thought it was an awesome sight to see. The Bones always do remain...
  17. I marched at Bucs (obviously) and was on staff with Surf this year. There really isn't any major difference except for the tours that we do. Practices are pretty much the same "intensity" wise. Obviously, different drum corps do different things, but you shouldn't be worried about anything at all. Obviously, being in Bucs will have you ready for it. Good luck!
  18. Rich Hammond wrote the Bucs cymbal line books for the years that I marched. Steve wrote the books for the Aftermath lines. Thanks for the compliments... I'm working with Rich at Surf this year. We have a 6 person cymbal line. Come check us out!
  19. Interesting... Snares: SCV 2004 Tenors: Cadets 1993 Basses: BD 1999 Cymbals: Bluecoats 2001 Pit: (tie Cavies 2000, SCV 04)
  20. 1. Pearl 2. Yamaha 3. Dynasty 4. Premier
  21. If you're waiting for a run-through to perform, you're doing it wrong.
  22. Nothing is granted as far as spots go these days. If you don't work for it, you don't get the spot. Plain and simple. Teaches kids that nothing in life is guaranteed.
