Top Horn Lines of All Time

Not a long list but there were so many good ones that it is easy to pick a few top lines... and NOT just because these guys had great soloists. One or two great soloist do not make a great hornline!:

1) 1975 Scouts

2) 1991 Star

3) 1973 Muchacho's

4) 1985 (?? - whenever Kansas City was) Blue Devils

5) 2002 Cavaliers (I know, I know but the more I LISTEN to the DVD the more I love the hornline. The ballad section moved them WAY UP the list)

I think it was 88 and 89 Blue Devils.....................

Just one small thing i noticed here whenever 91 is ever mentioned. Usually Star gets the most votes for that year, Best horn line right??? have you listened to the first 10 seconds of that show??? Gack city. Definitly one of the most demanding shows of all time, but i wouldn't say Star was Best for 91. Probably easier to listen to melodically, but i don't agree with best.

I'm not trying to bag on them, cause that year no one could touch them or BD.

Just an observation.

So, I assume you are going on just the finals performance, because yes...............it wasn't their best show of the year, nut I guarantee you, that if you listen to semis and quarters, you will not find another corps close to them......

Re:1972 Kingsmen and Blue Stars I can agree with but I think I would give a nod to Argonne over DesPlaines. Also surprised to not see 1976 Blue Devils on your list.
