sarnia sam
*smacks forehead*Â of COURSE.....how could I forget THAT one!Does anyone even do this anymore? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In Oaklands, one of the sops would yell - But First, and then the corps would yell - A Beer, right after the drum major saluted. That was in 78. I can't remember if it continued in following years. Regards, John Swartz

FHBob
Shouts from the crowd before the Kingsmen would step off: Announcer: "Is the corps ready?" Reply from crowd: "We're always ready!" Anonymous Velvet Knight fans in the stands would yell "VK all the way" before every Kingsmen performance. You can hear it on the 1972 recording. Another great one from the stands in 1972 is right before concert: "Take your time, take it away, you know you've got it won." Then "WAIL!" on the upbeat right before Ritual Fire Dance. Classic stuff.
Xcalibur
I remember yelling many different things throughout my rookie year. ESAD was a popular one. We had a wonderful horn instructor who used to wear very interesting shirts. One became a yell for the ready front: Powdermilk biscuits...heavens they're tasty...has your family tried em? I'd have to say that this yelling faded out as the 80's ended. Carlito
