Vocalizations...

Recommended Posts

Back int eh day many corps would vocalize before the show began...you old timeres know how it went...

Corps enters the field and sets up...

DM(s) cann a dress set..

Announcement of the corps...

After "if the corps ready?" the DM gives a ready front and the vocal would come out...one last hype before the show started.

In BD we yelled (loudly) BUSH!!

Freelancers did "Play ball!"

Any others out there...and when did this start tapering off?

Sam, your not quite as old as this dinosaur.  I never remember yelling bush.  What we yelled may have started with the same letter, but it referenced a specific piece of the male anatomy, as in playing with

B***s".

I remember yelling B@#LLS as well....maybe in the later years BD decided to switch the genders around....I would have yelled bush as well! B)

We yelled "OH GAWD PLEASE HELP US!!!"

Then the guard would faint, and we'd forfeit.

hee

Actually, the Argonauts never yelled anything on the field.

Ahem:

DM:WHAT TIME IS IT?

CORPS: KNIGHT TIME!!!!!

Oh yeah.

VK 85 yelled "Tastes great/Less filling!"

I know Ist Canadian Regiment and I think someone else in 1981 yelled "That's the fact, Jack!" Seattle Imperials yelled "Yeah" that same year.

Back in my day,it was "Whats the word?" "B@lls!" followed by our female members yelling out "B00bs!"

/Ah, for the days of less politicallycorrect drum corps...
