SoonerFan04
Jackson, TN was the 2nd of Memphis Sound's home shows. It took place last year and this year, so it *should* be back next season - I can't imagine why it wouldn't be. :) Great crowd there as well! csdrummer
ummmm....to one of the people earlier...the police escort was in Belding Michigan....at least it was for us. On a more sour note....By far the worst place for me the entire season was the div. 2/3 in buffalo... ghettoville. Although everybody running it knew the kind of crowd and climate the corps would be in, the corps didnt. And nobody decided to tell the corps that we are in one of the worst parts of buffalo until after we got there....when we saw the boarded up houses with bullet holes. A very very large crowd (upwords of a couple of thousand) but defenitely not your normal drum corps folks. Just a weird night to be had by all. but this is of course coming from a kid from the cornfields of Iowa. Best show for me goes to probably Belding. We showed up there twenty minutes before our gate time due to bus breakdowns in Madison the night before. The show was very nice about allowing us some time, the police escort, and everything. We went out that night and got a wonderful ovation from the fans the entire show...and they went nuts when they found out that we had been on a bus all day except for the 30 minutes before we went on. Belding Michigan=awesome crowd
argonaut
Pittsfield - the baseball field. While I was kind of upset about the field being so far away from the actual stands, that encore right on the home plate was quite possibly the most fun I've ever had. As someone who sat in the stands experiencing that encore, in Pittsfield, it was my favorite drum corps performances of the year. After sitting through competition, where the performance field was about a half mile away from the stands. Enduring the sun beating in my face the whole competition. Having the fantastic Oregon Crusaders set up right in front of the stands and rocking the house, made sitting through the rest worth wild. The people of Pittsfield will not be the same. palladio
Ahhh, Newnan, GA! That mud was intense, considering one of the very first things our colorguard did in the show was dive into the ground and roll around. We all shouted as we did it, ended up with a vocal in the show for the rest of the season! It goes without saying that the audience had just as much of a good time watching us get dirty as we had rolling in it.

phantomguard
trooping the stands at pittsfield was probably one of my most memorable dci moments. people were so loud and happy to see us, and they would single us out and say 'you! i loved that part when you did this!' they really paid attension to the show which is the best feeling ever. allegiance elite guard 2005
csdrummer
Dubuque Iowa My homeshow i guess I love playing there when the sun finally goes down behind the school when it isnt shining in your eyes. This year we ended up staying at East Buchanan High School for a long rehearsal day and an overnight into the showday and they treated us very well. The band director there was very hospitable and even gave the corps members some old cheerleading and basketball warmup uniform stuff...this is great for me because my girlfriend who lives in canada now has a rural Iowa school's cheerleading sweatshirt at her house. ANYWAYS... I always love going to this show (or both shows there)...Its a great atmosphere and is always well worth the trip
