Linnehan13
I'd just like to point out that the drumspeak section is the only part of the actual show where the drumline doesn't play. Drum corps are out there pushing the limits, trying to find out what the audience likes and doesn't like. It's a never-ending cycle. P.S. Cavaliers 2002: Corps vocals. Score: 99.15 Cadets 2005: Drumspeak. Score: 99.15 Coincidence?!?!?!?!?! (Twilight Zone music playing in background, which the Cadets played. COINCIDENCE?!?!?!?!?!?!) flashofthunder
I didn't really enjoy cadets '05. I respect it very much for how well it was performed, and thought it was a very well done show. The concept just didn't appeal to me. I loved Frameworks, though. It's one of my favorite shows I've seen. I liked the counting part, but simply because of what it is....drum speak isn't aurally pleasant to me. But as always, the real winner for me with a cavvies show was their drill. I don't really think the vocals had much to do with how well they scored. Their entire shows were just so clean. I really see drumspeak and vocals as more of a gimmick.
NationalGropp
Cadets 05 was probably my favorite show this past year, and I am NOT a Cadets fan . . . and the Drumspeak was ######.

Or when Cadets didn't sing, and tied for 2nd? SCV didn't chant in 2000, but got 4th also. Ummm.....
