madscout96
04 Glassmen used a pic for the Appalachian Spring solo in the closer. That was a piccolo trumpet in Bb, not a piccolo soprano in G. Gabe Hoban is the guy who played it. Valley Fever used one in 1982.The one used by Dan Ritacco of the Scouts in 1987 was custom built by Jim Becker, it was used by Southwind around the year 1990 and i believe now its in Dan's personal collection. I've seen Taco post on DCP before. Would he like to share any pic sop anecdotes? :P
Jimisback
Beatles used them in 1967. LOL.

dc oldtimer
Holy ancient history Batman..!! b**bs Looks like a one-off made for a corps many moons ago..dosent even have a rotor. Rumor has it that these were used pre-rotor times in the 50's and 60's. The history of the bugle, I think, is no valves or rotors during the caveman years. Then one valve was added in the 50's and 60's. Rotors in the late 60's. Then, of course, two valves in the mid-70's. I'm verifying this with the old farts on the Cavalier alumni forum. ironlips
Piccolo bugles were being used in the late '50s, I believe. The one on eBay looks a Getzen G/D, circa 1962.
BorisTS
That was a piccolo trumpet in Bb, not a piccolo soprano in G. Gabe Hoban is the guy who played it. I believe that he tuned it to A, actually. (Or at least he did at some point during the season).
posaune10
I think VK used one in '88 during Maleguena. You are correct, sir! (That dude could play, too!)
pitn0926
Where? I just remember seeing it during horn arc when they stayed at my high school for Drums Along the Rockies.
