Jocko the Wonder Llama
How about a Greatful Dead show? "Truckin" "Uncle John's band" "Touch of gray" "Tons of steel" Just think of the (20-minute) solos! b**bs :P We did a Beatles themed show in '79: "SGT Pepper's" "Golden slumbers" "Carry that weight" "And in the end"
MikeD
I've always thought Sweeney Todd would sound great in Drum Corps arrangements. That sweeping symphonic sound and one of the great contemporary ballads (Not While I'm Around). ^0^ I arranged music from "Sweeney Todd" for the band I teach two years ago. For the kids who were in the band then and now...it is still their favorite show (though winning champs this year with "Ghost Train" may push it to second place!). There is a LOT of great stuff in that show.
Jimisback
I would like to see a full year of all corps doing old school. Unis and all. Like what baseball and football have done. That would be so cool.
DCIAGEOUT
"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" I have actually seen this done tastefully by a marching band once.

mello916
Blue Devils present Mingus Amongus - a tribute to Charles Mingus Selections would include: - "Better Get It In Yo' Soul" (killer 6/8 groove + a place for soloists to go nuts = drum corps nirvana) - Selections from "Epitaph" (dig on these huge, dense chords) - "Goodbye Porkpie Hat"
zachariaswmb
How's about we get VK doing 'The Producers?' Just no voice allowed during Springtime for Hitler (a song from the show, for those of you that don't know).

flashofthunder
How about an all disco or funk/soul show! You could get let's say Crossmen or BD, I would like to see Cadets try this one maybe - But there would have to be some gold or silver lame somewhere! They could do some great songs like, let's see I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor Brickhouse - Commodores Funkytown - Lipps, Inc. - Don't tell me it can't be done - Americanos did it in 95 or 96 for I & E Dancing Queen - Abba My First, My Last, My Everything by Barry White and the Ballad could be ... Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye There is so much more! Just think of an all Chicago or Earth, Wind and Fire show! How about Jackson 5! Man the potential! b**bs I know some corps like Cadets of NYC have done some stuff by Stevie Wonder also! Man that was some good stuff, you Jive Turkeys! Carolina Gold is doing a Tower of Power themed show for '06. Yes, yes, I know, this is a junior corps discussion area...
