markdewine
:) Ah yes, "The Troopers Are Coming". I played mine so much, the needle started picking up the sounds on side two, and I was playing side one! Also, I turned up the volume ALL THE WAY, and broke the knob off. And I was using Bose speakers for headphones! No wonder I love drum corps.....
ruag8tr2
If you remember what a company front and an oblique mean... If you have ever changed clothes in the parking lot... If you march in step with people at work... If you still use the glide step... If everytime someone mentions a drum corps city (Bayonne...) you ask them if they have heard of Drum Corps... If you look at every bus that passes you on the road and wonder if it is a Drum Corps... If you are willing to sleep on the floor.... If you can handle a cold shower and not complain... apoch003
If you know what interval and distance are. If you're not afraid to walk behind the horses in a parade. If the smell of fresh cut grass and diesel fuel takes you back.
spiniki
If you have ever changed clothes in the parking lot...If you can handle a cold shower and not complain... For both of these, I'm not sure they make you a DC nut. b**bs
elphaba01
"Drum Corps Nut (Ancient)": If you remember what STATE CHMPIONSHIPS were. If you actually competed in a STATE CHAMPIONSIP in Wildwood NJ, and survived "Kelly's". If you remember the 'Preview of Champions' and 'Dream' contests held at Roosevelt Stadium. If you remember the VFW Nationals. If you remember the American Legion Nationals. If you remember the World Open. If you remember the CYO Nationals. If you remember the North American Open. If you remember the Blue Grass Nationals. If you remember Earl Sturtze. If you can remember all the GREAT junior drum corps that were around, and no longer exist since DCI "Took Over". Malibu
Breaking ranks would result in massive injury. Inspections....although by the time I got in corps, it was on the way out. Edited January 10, 2006 by Malibu
markdewine
If you see a Madison Scouts bumper sticker on the back of a car, and follow it, just so you can ask the guy, "What years did you march?" If you ride in the trunk of a car, all the way from North Carolina, to Lowell, Mass. to see a drum corps show! If you get just a little misty eyed when names like Jim Jones, Gail Royer, Jim Ott, Truman Crawford, Fred Sanford, Bobby Hoffman, etc. are mentioned.
