As far as narration...no. Adds nothing to the experience, and takes little talent.

I consider it a crutch to say "My show design can't explain what I'm trying to convey, but I'll tell you.", which is kind of the antithesis of drum corps...and art in general to me.

Sung vocals are different in those aspects at least. :)
