wolfgang
If the top 5 Div. II corps from last year competed head to head against the 18-24th place Div. I corps (in other words, the non-semifinalists), what in your opinion would the order have been? Gee, that sounds like the old days, doesn't it? Where would Arizona Academy have fit into this mix. Discuss.
PhantomR
well, it's hard to judge anything given the level of quality on the div 2-3 dvd's. but I think the 1-3 corps would have done quite well in quarters, and possibly even bid for semis. Teal and Fever would have been left behind, but still had some good competition within the 20-24 area. ~>conner
dckid80
The best of Div. 2 today compare favorably with 18-25 of yesteryear.
liebot
The best of Div. 2 today compare favorably with 18-25 of yesteryear. I'm obviously extremely biased, but I don't think you're giving Div 2/3 enough credit.
olledowerdna
Agreed... I believe the top 5 of Div II could scrape up some Div I corps.....
Carlosvi7
sorry guys but i think size matters. A 135 member corps at the same level as a 90 member corps will always win.
fzq
I heard that Academy is going Div. 1 in 2008. I can't wait.

I know that ECJ had more horns than Kiwanis did last year, and as I recall Pioneer wasn't that big either. I think they'd have a shot. Sorry, but you've been proven wrong many many times. DCM used to have all the corps on the same sheets. Check the stats.

Have you ever heard or see 89 Suncoast Sound? They were not full and had something like 44 horns on the field, placed 10th, and had an incredible sound. They beat several corps with larger horn lines and more overall members. It's all about the quality of the performance and the execution.
