Orpheus
:ramd: Why do people do this. Make statement then does not explain :: Is it some secret that you have to be a member to know what the A stands for. The right answer is in the second post of this thread. I was just explaining that the other answer he provided is not correct.
Orpheus
Here we go again. Now someone needs to start a thread on splooie, suta, No, because those are secrets only ever explained to insiders. The Bad ### Crusaders have never been a secret.
Storkysr
On what knowledge/authority do you make this definitive claim?
Orpheus
Most recently? How 'bout when Boston's director made a reference to it in an interview a couple years back?
ManchesterMuchacho
The BAC has more to do with where the Crusaders used to pactice, next to the Boston Athletic Club in Southie. We also used to tell folks it meant for Born Again Christians based on our more refined image. ;-) Dave
lymabean
The A does not stand for "area" and never has. And it never will Dano! :) Dont worry what BAC means.. If you are or have ever been in the organization.. You know what it means.. If you look foward to joining the BAC's.. you will eventually find out in history night... This corp has alot of tradition and history that is passed down to each chapter of the organization.. Sure bac stands for something... But its more of a feeling.. And being a part of Boston is the only way one will come to understand this. After all..they are giants!
Lance
Boston Area Crusaders or Bad A## Crusaders. Depends on who you talk to. And they're probably still wrong.
Geoff
SUTA (Phantom) Shove It Up Their A**es. I know, it doesn't quite make sense. It should be SIUTA. PR people will tell you this is wrong. They are lying. It may have acquired other meanings, but this is what it meant when I marched (78-83) and they were not shy about letting people in other corps know about it. It may have another "secret" meaning that only PR members know about, but this is the meaning that they themselves chose to make public. Wrong. GeneralTsoChicken
Wrong. Let him think what he wants... don't burst his bubble.
mdsnsctfan
Here we go again. Now someone needs to start a thread on splooie, suta, fyww and all the rest. Then a bunch of people will say what they think/know it means. Then another bunch of people will tell them these are all wrong because they know what it really means. And on and on and on. This really should be in a FAQ. Moderators? My .02 - BAC probably has several meanings, one of which is Bad A** Cru. It comes from the days when they would go around saying things like "We're the guys from Boston Mass and we are here to kick some a**." Let's just say that Boston used to have a less refined image than they do today. FYWW (BD) F*** You We Win. Actually, I don't think this one is a secret. Splooie (Cavaliers) - Use your imagination. If you think you know what it means, you are probably right. Can't forget about my favorite.... BYBO!! (Scouts) Blow your Balls Off! Although, and this isn't me just picking on the Scouts, but you really don't hear that anymore. I know Ollie Mae, scouts head cook for numerous years, was the one to start this...but it carried on well past when she passed on.
